Intuitive Decision Making: Knowing what you want and getting it

Thursday, May 20, 2010 by Samuel | 0 comments

From dreams to intuition to will power; what are the keys to getting what you want?

Dreams are the things we wish to have while goals are the things we want to achieve. Let's face it; man is miserable whenever he can't get the things he always wanted. In as much as we always say that things do happen for a reason, although at times they may be unexpected at all, then we can also say that there is also that great possibility that faith may also have its ways.

Faith believes that which is yet to be seen. It's all about knowing that whatever you goals you wish to attain will be reached and eventually your dreams will come true. They say in order to do this there are things that you need to figure out:

1. Intuition

2. Dreams

3. One’s own body

Trust your intuition:

Intuition is that gut feels on something. There are times epiphany comes along that we realize what we really want or that we just see ourselves at a certain point where we have or we are at a certain place. We may also know this as gut feel--we know something as a certain truth independent from any reasoning (in short "we just know").

This is associated to feelings; a quick insight of things. Example of such is when we know if a person is lying to us or not although he seems not to. We later on maybe surprised that it is as we expected it to be although it doesn't seem to.

To hold on to intuition, we first must believe that whatever it is that we see ourselves into: what we suddenly realize as our wants, will eventually come true.

Example is a woman renting an apartment with her husband. She then had this epiphany that what she wants is their own place to live in. the next thing she does is she tells her husband that the next time they move it's going to be in their own place. Later that night she browses the internet for possible real estate agency. She emailed each stating her concern. After five days she received an email from one of the agents. After a year they finally live in their own place.

Listen to your dreams:

Dreams on the other hands are visions or images or thoughts or emotions passing through the mind while we sleep. They may be reasons behind such dreams such as frustrations, aspirations, or simple an adventure. Deep inside we have some unsettled score over something or fears that are needed to be faced. Usually they serve as answers to questions that we've always asked ourselves with and at times those that we have no idea already exist. The objects we see in our dreams actually act as guide. We are advice to keep a journal of what we dreamt of and try to meet the answers and connect them to what are presently the things which confuse us or we just want answers for.

Know your body:

Knowing one's body means that he knows as to its capacity. It is unwise to venture into something that the body will later on back down from. Let’s say wanting to venture into a course while working. Eventually if the body isn't so well adjusted to the shifting not to mention the working factor better just drop the other.

People are advice to listen to their body: how does it feel on certain decisions we make. Do we cross our arms? Did it feel relax over somebody? Did it feel stressed out? Do we feel a certain excitement? There are things that we may not understand but try to observe it. If we feel something right, the body just wants to go there and do these stuff; we become less stress and becoming happy instead.

**************

How to tap intuition:

1. be neutral: no negative no positive and controlling the emotions.

2. Meditate and ask for higher help. Prayer can make wonders.

3. be happy. Leave all worries and just stay focus on what you think you want.

4. Visualize. Picture yourself on a certain area and walking towards something. There are times the answers just come and the excitement can't be helped. This is when the body wants something to do--because this is for you.

*************

Will power can always help us move mountains. Once we realize what we want and what will make us happy have the will strong enough to pull this through. Just remember that in stepping the ladder towards success it is advisable to have an open mind and open heart: open mind to listen to advices and to weigh things over and open heart to remember to look back and be thankful—do not step on others. God will reward good deeds.

Happy Employees a Must for A Company’s Success

What are the secret to a high rising company?

People often measure success to financial status. We usually say a person who drives a luxury car has gotten himself one heck of a paycheck (add the fact that he has trips abroad). Busy people, workaholics, and those pretty much too focused and disciplined--they say--get this much. Do they really?

Companies must focus on one thing--if they want success they must get happy employees. According to Thomas Wright and Jon Wefald, Leadership chair in Business Administration and professor of management at K-State, employees who perform well have high levels of psychological being. Define this term in lay man's terms would mean "they are happy employees". So why is it important that they are in such a state of being?

Happy employees perform better...

Further more in their studies such employees actually give out more ideas and are very much into the role of the game when it comes to giving their 101 percent (and at times more). They are more active not to mention less stress out thus giving more creative flow to their work.

Another factor that adds to this equation is that happy employees usually influence even his coworkers. Happiness is a general term to use in this area but let's admit that meeting someone with a smile (and I mean a huge friendly smile) can be influencing and are mostly very intoxicating.

This is a shout-out to all dinosaurs for managers--think of your employees' happiness. This doesn't necessarily mean let them go chitchatting around and stuff; it's still about giving great rewards for them. Here's how:

1. "Thank You" means a lot as much as a smile is. Appreciate the work your employees have done for you and the company, that way he'd be motivated to work even harder.

2. Celebrate with them. For ever success the team made try to hang out or show them appreciation for a job well done with a drink or a day out with them. Their success is the company's success to.

3. Ensure that the work area or the office as whole is equipped with something that will at least make life easier for them. A good coffee machine or great office chairs to sit is already something. This will keep the workers more motivated especially since they are more comfortable.

4. Treat them out once in a while or at least order something for them. Lunch is good. They say meals opens a lot of things to talk about. If it's for the company this is one way of good brainstorming since everybody is just relax and chilling out. You'd be surprised to see that even jokes are great ideas too.

5. it’s time to encourage them. Make it a point to empower your employees although not every day. Acknowledge their potential and make sure they see how good they are and how you appreciate their being at the company.

6. Let them go for further learning. Don't hold them back. It is important to give them the freedom to learn more than what they are already equipped with. Besides once they have that sense of accomplishment then it will give them further confidence to do their work. This will mean better performance. Besides, it is also an advantage for the company.

Happiness is the big deal for everyone. It keeps us motivated and wanting more out of our everyday. It creates good relations plus makes them last at the same time.

Wright's study has been published at Journal of Management, Organizational Dynamics, the Journal of Occupational Health Psychology, and the Journal for Applied Psychology and the Journal of Organizational Behavior.

Things to avoid when going for a job interview

Wednesday, May 5, 2010 by Samuel | 0 comments

Details to a job application do matters. Firstly there's the fact that different jobs require a certain quality from an applicant which should manifest even in his curriculum vitae. secondly the behaviors of the decision makers has made passing a bit more difficult; knowing that they are the best in the field they have certain air that tends to be pleased whether it may be professional or personal preference.

So as to not get your resume caught up in the pile of rejects here are basics that applicants must not do in order to avoid such thing from happening.

1. Don’t send a follow-up text message saying "thx 4 d mtng". The art of professional thank-you notes still hits the right spot when it comes to getting employer's attention. Firstly it's classy and secondly it tells something about the applicant like professionalism, formalities, and the works. There are some applicants, especially the newly grads, who think a text message or adding in a social network is enough. for some managers moves such as these already gives them the impression that the applicant is someone who is sure to lack on social graces which is usually a plus for any job description.

2. Don’t spam your resume. To apply for the same position or different position in the company posting the application in different website can be a hassle and annoying for the employers.

3. Don't ask for what the company you are applying to does. An applicant should do its homework. Research through the company's website or ask. Better scan newspapers for such announcements that are related to your company. It pays to show something that you know about the company and how you were impressed over something about it.

4. Don't bring family members. There are some applicants who surprise their employer by bringing along babies or their parents to the job interview. If left with no choice better contact the employer about the situation that you'll be bringing along people with you.

5. Don't dare use a cell phone during meetings. During an interview it's just you and your employer. Hold the calls and the messages. Such behaviors where an applicant takes personal calls are annoying. Leave the cell phone inside bags and just do the interview without it.

6. Don't overreact. It may pay for an applicant to have a sense of humor during interviews however keep in mind to keep everything subtle. Don’t cry or laugh too much. You may smile once in awhile but keep reactions as little as possible yet don't be too quiet or reaction less at all. You’ll be seen as someone boring if you also do such actions.

7. Do not take cups or drinks during interviews. Leave them. It may give a bad impression to the interviewer if you did bring your own. This may mark as informal.

SUMMARY: It seems that newly grads nowadays are committing a lot of errors when it comes to going for a job interview, then again background check says more. Here are what to avoid during job interviews.
